Grain

Visible texture in images from high ISO or film.

What is grain?

Grain (or noise in digital photography) appears as visible texture or speckles, especially in shadow areas. It increases at higher ISO settings. While sometimes used stylistically, grain reduces image quality and is typically avoided in product photography by using low ISO and adequate lighting.

Pro tips

Keep ISO at 100-200 to minimize grain

Add light rather than increasing ISO
